Józef Piłsudski Museum

Competition concept design

About

To mark the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Józef Pilsudski, the Museum bearing his name has organised a competition for the design of artistic and spatial concept for the permanent exhibition located in Sulejówek in the “Milusin” Manor. The competition project, of which we are co-authors, received the second prize.

The opening of the Józef Piłsudski Museum is planned for 2017. Its main objective is to comprehensively show the multifaceted biography of the Marshal as a man, patriot, soldier and statesman in a broad historical context. We are co-authors of the competition project, which includes a scenario of a narrative exhibition, interior and exposition design, projects for installations and interactive stations and visual identity design for the Museum. The presented narrative is adapted to the nature of subsequent episodes of Piłsudski’s biography.

Design for the space and exhibition is based on the cruciform plan of the War Order of Virtuti Militari – the highest Polish military decoration, reintroduced on the initiative of Piłsudski after regaining independence. The narrative of the exhibition is accompanied by engaging multimedia solutions in the form of holograms, animated photographs, interactive tables, applications for touch screens and tablets and an interactive wall.
