Castle Hill

Centre of Patriotic and Civic
Reflection in Kielce
2012

About

Opened in 2012, the Centre of Patriotic and Civic Reflection in Kielce located in a former prison is part of the Castle Hill project. Its main task is to shape patriotic attitudes and commemorate the Centre as a place of genocide. We designed and assembled all multimedia elements of the Historical Exhibition.

Addressed mainly to young people, the historical exhibition has been designed to make an extensive use of multimedia elements. Touch screens, sound recordings and large-format archival photographs provide personal contact with the times from the late eighteenth century to the communist period. Multimedia presentations in the form of books displayed on the touch screens show individually chosen content, as well as give a sense of direct access to archival documents. An interactive reproduction of Battle of Racławice by Wojciech Kossak and Jan Styka makes it possible to view selected parts of the painting in detailed close-ups, while a 3D model of the former prison displayed on a multimedia touch table gives you the opportunity to know the building and individual rooms better.
