Permanent exhibition
In progress
The Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk is one of the most anticipated museum projects in Poland. We have prepared all multimedia elements that will appear in the main exhibition.
The exhibition, located in the underground part of the museum and covering an area of 7000 m2, will be one of the largest historical exhibitions in the world. Made up of three narrative blocks: The road to war, The horrors of war and The war’s long shadow, it will offer both political and personal perspective on the events and present WWII in an accessible way. The main objective of the project is to stimulate imagination through the use of new audio-visual technologies and to engage visitors in the story. On the basis of archival materials – photographs, documentary films, sound recordings, all organised in an integrated visual system, we have prepared, among others: large format film screenings, animated maps of hostilities, and interactive stations equipped with touch screens showing various aspects of the conflict and its consequences.
Our part of the project includes 70 documentaries, more than 100 interactive multimedia presentations, animations and slideshows. The exhibition opening is scheduled for 1 September 2016 – the 77th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.
