Cultural Centre in Gdynia
2013
Cultural Centre in Gdynia commissioned us to develop a visual identity and multimedia applications for CultureBox in Gdynia InfoBox. Gdynia InfoBox is a multifunctional information centre, which aims to provide news about municipal investments and involve the recipient with its multimedia format.
The idea refers to the popular in recent years notion of infoboxes – temporary information facilities that communicate changes in urban spaces to residents and tourists. An important element of the infobox in Gdynia is CultureBox – section dedicated to a variety of artistic and cultural activities.
For CultureBox, we created not only multimedia equipment but also coherent and clear visual identity reflected in the interior design. The dominant element in bright and airy spaces of the centre is a square structure marked with red. Visitors can display information about cultural institutions and ongoing cultural events in applications available on touch screens. They will find there the current programme of cinemas and theatres, presentation of museums, clubs and libraries, as well as easy-to-read map of sightseeing spots supplemented with multimedia content to facilitate planning a visit to the city.
The system operates in three language versions: Polish, English and German.
Another attraction of Gdynia InfoBox created by us is the Periscope of Change – a device that allows you to enjoy both the present panorama of the city and its future shape. Thanks to a computer equipped with a camera installed inside, you can take a closer look at selected objects on the map of Gdynia and learn how they are going to look like in the future.
Project executed by Nolabel Sp. z o.o. in cooperation with New Amsterdam team.
