Lucknow Residency

From October this year, the Residency in Lucknow – the place where the uprising and India's first war of independence began in 1857 – will permanently host a 35-minute show, screened daily and produced using 3D mapping, spatial sound and technically advanced lighting, through which the history of India will be told anew.

The mapping devoted to the history and cultural heritage of Lucknow, a city in northern India, will be the first project of its kind carried out by New Amsterdam and Nolabel in India. For several years, Nolabel has been successfully working with numerous production houses and agencies from Mumbai, India's most important advertising hub. Thanks to this cooperation, the Kraków studio's productions reach hundreds of millions of viewers. “Lucknow Residency”, however, will be the first multimedia cultural project of this scale that Nolabel and New Amsterdam will carry out on the Indian subcontinent.

In Poland, we have been observing dynamic changes in the way museum exhibitions are conceived for several years. Narrative museums have grown in popularity – museums whose task is to “tell stories” and evoke specific impressions and emotions in the audience, not only through traditional exhibits, but also with the use of modern technologies, set design, multimedia projections and lighting.

For several years, New Amsterdam and Nolabel have been successfully implementing innovative solutions, working for museums, cultural institutions and science centers. Since 2009, the two companies have completed over 30 multimedia projects throughout Poland, including 20 multimedia museums, which are highly rated by visitors and experts alike. The Indian partner of the project will be Sirius Digital – a new player on the Indian entertainment market.
