Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality is a technology that allows the virtual world to blend freely with the real one. Unlike Virtual Reality, AR does not create a complete, new 3D world, but extends and complements the one we know. Virtual elements are a kind of computer-generated “overlay” on reality.
The world created through Augmented Reality is interactive and at the same time allows freedom of movement in three dimensions. Usually, the two realities are combined using a camera image onto which 3D graphics are generated in real time. Such a simulation enables us to convey information in a way that is understandable and, importantly, very attractive to the audience.
Augmented reality is widely used in medicine, aviation and the automotive industry, but also in education, entertainment and marketing. AR has made it possible to create virtual reconstructions of buildings that no longer exist or have been destroyed, to enrich museum exhibitions by introducing virtual exhibits into the exhibition space, and to supplement information about real objects by tagging them with additional content, e.g. about their historical context.
AR also makes it possible to assist visitors by displaying on the device's screen additional markers or names assigned to the objects, places or buildings the viewer is looking at.
We have been creating projects using Augmented Reality since 2009. Our applications with an AR module can be found in the multimedia exhibition space of the Rynek Underground in Kraków, at Castle Hill in Kielce, and soon at the Ship Conservation Center in Tczew. Using AR technology is not an end in itself for us, but merely a means that helps us tell stories.
We create applications with an augmented reality module designed for all types of mobile devices.
