3D mapping and audiovisual shows
Mapping is one of the most spectacular multimedia projection technologies. It is a three-dimensional audiovisual show that blurs the line between illusion and reality. By projecting precisely fitted animations onto real, unusual surfaces – from historic building facades, through scenographic elements, to intricate architectural details – we breathe new life into static objects.
Thanks to dynamically changing lighting, depth of color, and a synchronized soundtrack, viewers get the subjective impression that inanimate matter is starting to move. Working on a mapping project requires perfect coordination of a team of specialists: from engineers and programmers, through animators and 3D artists, to musicians. The result, however, is worth it – the audience is absolutely enthralled.
Our projects are among the best in the world. Here are 5 examples of spectacular mappings created by New Amsterdam:
– Centennial Hall in Wrocław: The culmination of its Discovery Center. Under our content and artistic supervision, in collaboration with the Belgian VJ collective AntiVJ, we created the show O(micron). This several-minute show, projected beneath a dome 65 meters in diameter, is the world's largest permanent suspended video mapping.
– Wawel Royal Castle: An immersive show in the Międzymurze. Using 23 synchronized projectors, we brought to life the historic bricks of the former seat of Polish kings, creating an installation that seamlessly combines architecture, light, and multi-zone sound.
– Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk: The large-format show “Wybuch,” based on an idea by Andrzej Wajda. It is a powerful mapping projected on an 80-meter panoramic screen that literally surrounds viewers, heightening the dread and emotion.
– HYDROPOLIS Ecological Education Center in Wrocław: The spectacular “Planeta Wody” zone, the showpiece of the entire exhibition. Here we created an innovative spherical (360-degree) projection displayed on a monumental globe suspended just above the surface of the water, immersing viewers completely.
– Gandhi Kutir (India): An international project combining new technologies with an extraordinary historical heritage. We designed and implemented advanced 3D mapping on the building's facade, creating a powerful “light and sound” show that brings the story of this place to life in a modern and spectacular way.
We create original solutions in the following formats:
– Architectural mapping (3D)
– 360-degree mapping (large-format projections surrounding the viewer)
– Spherical mapping (advanced projections on spherical objects and non-standard geometric forms).
