Virtual Reality

Virtual Reality

Virtual reality (VR) is one of the most advanced multimedia solutions – it requires special sound and image projection technologies. Today, VR  is becoming increasingly accessible and widespread. Soon it will be a technological breakthrough on a par with smartphones.  We know how to use it.

Virtual reality is a way of using computer technology to create the effect of an interactive, three-dimensional world in which digitally recreated objects give the impression of spatial presence. VR makes it possible to simulate reality, but also to create entirely new, parallel worlds. Although the technology can engage all the senses, it is most often audiovisual in nature and is based on projecting a three-dimensional image onto a computer screen or special surrounding screens that deepen the sense of immersion in the virtual world. Using stereoscopic glasses and gloves, the user can interact with the virtual environment and experience the illusion of moving through it.

Virtual reality is most often used in computer games, although recently it has  increasingly been used in the entertainment and tourism industries,  advertising, education, healthcare and the military. Virtual reality has made it possible to take a virtual visit to and almost physically experience a distant place, or to explore museum collections without leaving home.
